The top grocery chain in America has been revealed - and it might surprise you!
The 72 biggest grocery chains in the country have been ranked, and surprisingly, the top contender is not present in every state across the nation. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. The ranking of the 72 largest grocery chains in the country has been completed. America's grocery chains have been put to the test, and Walmart didn't even crack the top 10. With shopping centers vying for customers in a market where popular grocery items are hitting record-high prices, some shoppers are shelling out over $3,000 on food weekly. As Aldi gears up to take on other budget-friendly stores, a ranking of the nation's 72 largest grocery chains has been released. Dunnhumby, a customer data science company, carried out a study to assess American sentiments regarding the enormous $1 trillion grocery industry. By surveying 11,000 consumers, they aimed to gather insights on which grocery chain was favored by the participants. Against all odds, a franchise operating in just 10 states snagged the top spot, reports the Express US. For the fourth consecutive time, H-E-B has been crowned America's favorite grocery store. The Texas-based chain wins customer hearts with its fresh offerings and standout private-label products. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. H-E-B secured the top position. Their website proudly claims that every location is unique, "customized to meet the specific needs of the customers in each community." The survey revealed that H-E-B's attractiveness stems from its strong value proposition. Studies show that consumers tend to prefer retailers that offer opportunities for saving money through competitive prices, special promotions, and loyalty programs. This loyalty from shoppers provides these retailers with a significant advantage for achieving lasting success in a competitive market. Following H-E-B, Market Basket secured the second spot, Costco took third place, and WinCo Foods came in fourth. In contrast, Walmart, the largest grocery retailer in the United States, ranked at number 11. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Matt O'Grady, the President of the Americas for the company, disclosed that various challenges have impacted consumer attitudes. He noted, "Retailers and consumers have navigated through Covid, supply chain challenges, agricultural shortages driven by climate effects, and an extended phase of elevated food inflation, all of which have transformed shopping habits and altered Americans' views on the grocery retail landscape." O'Grady noted that many companies are currently focusing on implementing changes to improve the shopping experience, with the goal of making their stores more appealing to customers. "He further emphasized that clients within the grocery retail industry recognize that achieving market success relies on helping shoppers save money and adopting cutting-edge pricing technologies to retain their customer base."

"I've seen individuals attempt to return second-hand patio furniture": A man tries to return items at Costco, prompting an employee to step in.
"I'm really pleased that Costco didn't let you in." View pictures in App save up to 80% data. It seems that Costco's famously lenient return policy doesn't extend to this individual—what could be the reason behind it? Customers have successfully returned a variety of used, damaged, and partially consumed products, receiving refunds without any complications. However, when this individual attempted to make his very first return, he was denied. Costco refuses to accept the return. In a video that has garnered over 90,000 views, entrepreneur Dave Collenberg criticizes Costco for failing to uphold its well-known return policy. Collenberg mentions in the text overlay, "I’m only sending back 20% of what I purchased." Collenberg mentioned that he purchased over a thousand totes, commonly known as plastic storage bins, but roughly 300 of those are deemed “defective.” However, when he attempted to take them back to Costco, he claims they refused to accept them. In the footage, Collenberg showcases an extensive flatbed loaded with stacked plastic crates. It appears there was quite a bit of debate happening in the comments, which led Collenberg to disable them. In a subsequent video, he responds to those who claimed there was “much more to this narrative.” In the subsequent update, it appeared that the bins had indeed been previously used. However, it's uncertain whether they were received in that condition, prompting his desire to return them, or if he was simply attempting to emulate the many others who have gained attention for returning used items to the major retail chain. The Daily Dot was unable to verify the price of the plastic bins on the Costco website, as they are exclusively available at the business center. However, Home Depot offers comparable bins priced at $10 each. This suggests that Collenberg was attempting to reclaim approximately $3,000 from Costco. In a statement, Collenberg expressed his surprise at being denied his "only return ever," noting that he has invested "hundreds of thousands of dollars" with the retailer. "I'll find another place for my business," he remarked. Costco’s return policy is known for being very generous and customer-friendly. It allows members to return most items at any time for a full refund, with some exceptions like electronics, which must be returned within a specific timeframe. This policy reflects Costco's commitment to customer satisfaction and encourages members to shop with confidence. Costco offers a “100% satisfaction guarantee” that is completely risk-free. “We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price,” the site states. In some cases, a receipt isn't even necessary for returns; they can simply retrieve your purchase history using your membership card. One person returned a stinky 3-year-old rug that was falling apart. Another returned cat food without the original bag because their furry friend stopped liking it. And others returned fully eaten steak and chicken that just had the bones left. Although the majority of products, including food items, can be returned, the following exceptions apply: Gift cards Specific electronics have a 90-day return window Diamonds must have all their original paperwork and will need to go through an authentication process Cigarettes and alcohol Products with a limited useful life expectancy (like tires and batteries) Custom items Plane and event tickets Gold bullion, gold bars, and silver coins "One commenter expressed relief, saying, 'I'm really glad Costco rejected those totes; they’re outdated and no longer of any value to the store.'" "Another person commented, 'They ought to issue him a refund, especially since he's open to taking store credit as he mentioned.'" "Perhaps you should check out another Costco; it might just be the employee that was the issue," someone proposed. @farmndave Costco doesn’t honor there return policy make it viral #costco #fyp #oregon ♬ original sound – Farmn Dave The Daily Dot contacted Collenberg for a response through both email and TikTok direct message, and also reached out to Costco via email.

'Highly amusing': Billionaire ridiculed for lamenting 'failed agreement' and abandoning Democrats in favor of Trump.
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Former President Donald Trump seen beside his aircraft (Image: Gage Skidmore/Flickr) Pro-Trump billionaire Marc Andreessen sat for an interview with the right-wing Hoover Institution's "Uncommon Knowledge," and explained how he drifted away from the Democratic Party into the MAGA camp over the last few years — even though, in reality, he backed the GOP in presidential campaigns as far back as 2012. "So the way I describe it is, look, I came up in the 90s, you know ... it was just sort of assumed that if you were in Silicon Valley and high tech in the 90s, it was just assumed, Clinton-Gore heyday. It was just assumed, what I now call 'The Deal,' with a capital D, and no one ever said it out loud, but it was just assumed," said Andreessen. "The arrangement was clear: as a high-tech entrepreneur, you have the opportunity to innovate and develop groundbreaking technology, establish a thriving business, and generate numerous employment opportunities. This technology contributes positively to society, enhancing the world around us. You can eventually take your company public, reap substantial financial rewards, and at a certain stage, invest those earnings into philanthropic efforts. That’s the complete journey." He went on to say that tech entrepreneurs would achieve all of this "with the backing of the media," which praised technological progress as beneficial for both society and democracy. He expressed his frustration, stating that in the past decade, "radicalized college students" have come to dominate the Democratic Party, leading to a situation where all of his actions—once viewed as part of "The Deal"—are now labeled as "evil." This includes his efforts in building businesses, advancing technology, and participating in charitable activities. Andreessen's interview drew widespread criticism from users on social media, particularly on the X alternative platform known as Bluesky. "Andreessen has been the most transparent about why he's moved right and is now supporting Trump," said political writer Thor Benson. "They don't like that everyone doesn't worship them anymore." "It’s wild how the 'deal' Andreessen describes is basically aristocracy," wrote Dame Magazine columnist Kaitlin Byrd. "We really have failed ourselves as a society." "It remains very funny that Mitt Romney bundler Marc Andreessen has been making the rounds for eight years talking about how recent changes in society have turned him to the right," wrote Michael Caley of the Expecting Goals newsletter.
